Ladder Safety for Cleaning Your Gutters

Written by sitecats on . Posted in Blog

When cleaning your gutters, remember these important ladder safety tips: Prior to using the ladder, inspect the rungs and rails for damage.  When errecting the ladder, make sure the ladder is on solid, level ground. Secure the ladder at the top to prevent it from slipping. Next, extend the ladder at least 3 feet beyond the gutter, and angle it 1 foot back from the house for every 4 feet in eave height.  Most imporantaly, always ensure that at least three of your body limbs are in contact with the ladder at all times: two hands and at least one leg. If you feel unsure or unsafe utilizing a ladder to access your roof, please do not hesitate to call JB Roofing Systems, at 267.966.7648.  Gutter cleaning, repairs, and restoration are services that we provide and we’d be happy to provide you with a free estimate. ladder
