When cleaning your gutters, remember these important ladder safety tips: Prior to using the ladder, inspect the rungs and rails for damage. When errecting the ladder, make sure the ladder is on solid, level ground. Secure the ladder at the top to prevent it from slipping. Next, extend the ladder at least 3 feet beyond the gutter, and angle it 1 foot back from the house for every 4 feet in eave height. Most imporantaly, always ensure that at least three of your body limbs are in contact with the ladder at all times: two hands and at least one leg.
